Most successful people share the same handful of things in common:
- They are disciplined with their time
- They know how to stay focused on one goal at a time
- They have mentors who guide them
- They have mastered one (or multiple) valuable skills
But in trading, over the 200+ podcast interviews I’ve completed, I’ve noticed the most successful traders have this 1 habit in common:
Every successful trader does something unique rather than copying others.
Here’s why:
Successful traders do not simply replicate the strategies or patterns they’ve read in books or heard from others.
Instead, they develop their own unique approach to trading.
They go beyond traditional methods and experiment with unconventional ideas, sometimes even reversing standard techniques or ideas to see if they yield better results.
Creativity plays a crucial role in developing unique market approaches.
Doing the same thing as everyone else is not an edge.
Be different.
As elite trading coach Dr Brett Steenbarger once said:
“You don’t find generic, super successful traders.”
