Stop robbing yourself

At the end of every podcast interview, I always ask the special guest if they have any favourite trading books, and an overwhelming number of people say the Market Wizards books by Jack Schwager.

Why is that?

What’s the appeal of the Market Wizards books?

When I first started trading many years ago, I was absolutely fascinated by the traders and their stories in the Market Wizards books. I bought every Market Wizard book that was available (at the time) and read through each of them a number of times. I loved those books.

So many different trading styles…

So many trading lessons…

So much knowledge shared, from real-life trading experiences…

And the majority of lessons in the Market Wizards books are timeless and still apply today.

This was one of the appeals of starting the Better System Trader podcast – getting the opportunity to talk to other traders, hear their stories, their struggles and triumphs, and gain some valuable trading knowledge, to not only elevate my own trading but everyone who listened along too.

And it’s had a big impact on the trading community – over the past few years I’ve literally received hundreds of emails from traders thanking me for the positive impact the podcast interviews have had on their trading, like these ones I’ve received recently:

I have been following your podcasts since the beginning. The material and the service that you provide are invaluable. They have changed my approach and given a lot of study material that contributed to where I’m now.” – d.t.

Let me first start by saying that I listen to your podcasts regularly and they have given me a lot of clarity. Thank you so much and looking forward to listening to more amazing episodes.” – k.s.

We dont know each other.  I’m just an avid listener and fan of your podcast.  Your work is the single best resource I have to improve my trading.  I aspire to one day be successful and to be interviewed by you!  Thank you so much for what your doing.” – m.w.

But here’s the thing…

Consuming a podcast episode just once isn’t nearly enough.

Just like you can’t get all of the insights from reading Market Wizards once either.

I listen to each podcast episode 2 or 3 times for editing and taking notes etc, and every time I listen I pick up different points, so if you only listen once you’re missing out on lots of valuable trading insights.

So my advice is this…

Stop robbing yourself.

Go back to an older podcast episode that you enjoyed or that interests you and listen to it again. Twice. Or even more. I have no doubt that you’ll pick up different tips every time you listen.

And get yourself a copy of the ‘Interviews with Pro Traders‘ ebooks, which have the transcripts for every one of the first 100 podcast episodes in a professionally designed ebook, so you can read the interviews anywhere you want.

They’re currently going for the special introductory price of only $7 per volume (25 podcast episodes per volume), or $20 for all 4 volumes, but the introductory price will be gone very soon so grab your copy now.

It’s such a small price to pay for such valuable trading insights!

You can get more info about the ‘Interview with Pro Traders’ ebooks here.

Happy reading,
Andrew.
